FULL TIME BAKERY FRONT OF HOUSE

Location: Lerwick, Shetland
Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00  – 18:00 

Island Larder is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Barista & Baker to join our small, dedicated team. Based in our busy peerie shop in Lerwick, this is a hands-on, fast-paced role at the heart of our daily operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Baking cookies and preparing other sweet treats
• Making hot drinks & coffee 
• Greeting and serving customers with warmth and professionalism 
• Scooping ice cream and keeping displays tidy and appealing
• Opening and closing the shop
• Maintaining a clean, organised workspace and following hygiene procedures
• Supporting the team wherever needed

What We’re Looking For:

• A friendly, polite individual who enjoys working with the public
• Someone who uses their initiative and works well under pressure
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A positive team player with a can-do attitude
• Experience in a kitchen, café or retail setting is a bonus, but full training will be provided

Island Larder is looking for weekend + summer holiday staff to help make our iconic Puffin Poo during the chaos of tourist season 🌞

This is a perfect first job if you want:

The job involves:

• Making Puffin Poo
• Working professionally as part of a team
• Keeping the kitchen clean & organised

We’re looking for people who:
✔ Work well as a team
✔ Aren’t afraid of hard work
✔ Have good attention to detail
✔ Can keep things tidy while the kitchen gets chaotic

No experience needed — we’ll teach you everything. You must be over 15.
